Self-Test for Anxiety in Dubai (Beck Aniety Inventory) is a helpful screening tool recognizing anxiety disorders

The Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) is a widely recognized self-assessment tool designed to help individuals evaluate the severity of their anxiety symptoms. Developed by psychologist Aaron T. Beck, the BAI is commonly used in both clinical and research settings to identify and measure various physical and emotional signs of anxiety.

This self-assessment consists of 21 questions that examine different aspects of anxiety, including physical sensations, emotional responses, and cognitive patterns. Scores range from 0 to 63, with higher scores indicating more pronounced anxiety symptoms.

The BAI provides a clearer understanding of how anxiety manifests and offers individuals an important first step toward recognizing their mental health needs. While the Beck Anxiety Inventory is a helpful screening tool, it does not replace a full psychological or psychiatric evaluation, which is necessary to confirm a diagnosis and guide appropriate treatment.

Interpreting the Beck Anxiety Inventory

The Beck Anxiety Inventory helps assess the severity of anxiety symptoms. After completing the 21-item self-assessment questionnaire, the scores for each item should be added together.

The highest possible total score is 63, which would mean scoring a 3 on all items.

Since the lowest score for each item is 0, the minimum total score for the inventory is 0.

You can evaluate your anxiety level according to the table below:

Total Score Level of Anxiety:

0–7 Minimal anxiety

8–15 Mild anxiety

16–25 Moderate anxiety

26–63 Severe anxiety
