Dr. Gregor Kowal is a German Board-Certified Consultant in Psychiatry, Psychotherapy, and Family Medicine with more than 30 years of clinical experience. He trained at Heidelberg University and subsequently held senior clinical and medical leadership positions in Germany.
Since 2010, he has served as Medical Director of CHMC in Dubai, combining psychiatric assessment and pharmacotherapy with psychotherapeutic treatment.

Dr. Annette Schonder was born and grew up in Augsburg, Germany. Upon completion of her high school education, she moved to the USA where she studied Psychology and Sociology at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia, USA, finishing her studies with High Distinction. She continued her scientific studies at Breining Institute, Orangevale, California, (USA), earning a Doctorate in Psychology.
Our Cooperation with Sakina Rehabilitation
CHMC is proud to cooperate with Sakina Rehabilitation, the first non-medical addiction and mental health rehabilitation center in the UAE. Founded by Rebecca Rivera, Sakina offers a safe residential setting where individuals receive structured support for addiction recovery and mental well-being.
As part of this cooperation, CHMC’s Dr. Kowal provides psychiatric services to Sakina residents. Dr. Annette Schonder, psychologist at CHMC, also serves as Clinic Director and psychologist at Sakina, ensuring coordinated, expert care.
