Dr. Kowal, Senior Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist, and Family Medicine Specialist, (German Board Certified)

Dr. Gregor Kowal studied human medicine at Ruprechts – Karl – University in Heidelberg (Germany). He completed his dissertation at the same university, acquiring his doctoral degree (PhD). The University of Heidelberg is the oldest and currently the best-ranked university in Germany (QS World University Ranking). In the following years, he participated in postgraduate training in psychiatry, neurology, and internal medicine. He completed his studies with speciality exams in psychiatry and psychotherapy at the Medical Chamber of Koblenz and in family medicine at the Medical Chamber of Hanover.

In 2004, Dr. Kowal, a German Senior Consultant in Dubai, took up a post as Senior Consultant and Head of Department at the Hochtaunus Hospital for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy near Frankfurt (Germany). He later moved on to a role as Medical Director in a Hospital for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy near Marburg (Germany). In these positions, Dr. Kowal not only treated his patients but also took on the responsibility of training assistant doctors and psychologists entrusted to his care.

Additionally, in the years 2003 until 2011, he worked as a consultant expert for the Federal Courts of Frankfurt, Koblenz, and Marburg, providing psychiatric expertise in social and forensic psychiatric cases.

Dr. Kowal’s specialist education includes profound expertise in biological psychiatry, psychodynamic-based psychotherapy, as well as family medicine. Concerning his psychotherapeutic background, he is trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy based on depth psychology developed by Sigmund Freud, Carl Gustav Jung, Melanie Klein and their successors.

Over the past years, Dr. Kowal has been directing the Clinic for Health and Medical Care (CHMC), a leading Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy located in Dubai, UAE. Under his expert leadership as Senior Consultant, CHMC has established itself as a state-of-the-art Centre for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy in the UAE, providing top-tier care to patients from various backgrounds.

His extensive experience also extends into family medicine, where he has worked closely with specialists and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care to individuals and families.
