The Clinic for Health and Medical Care (CHMC) is an outpatient clinic specialized in Psychiatry, Psychology and Family Medicine. The internal clinic organization follows the German healthcare standard. Our mental healthcare team consists of professionals educated, trained, and licensed in Germany, US and UK. Our strength lies in the methodical, standardized evaluation procedures, treatment plan development and – last but not least – continuation of the treatment by the same doctor/psychotherapist.

Dr. Kowal earned his professional credentials of Medical Doctor, Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist and Family Medicine Specialist in Germany. To earn these designations, he completed 6 years of medical studies followed by 5 years of postgraduate studies in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, and he did 5 additional years of postgraduate studies in Family Medicine. After being licensed as Consultant in Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Family Medicine, he continued his professional work for another 14 years in the distinguished role of Head of Psychiatry and Medical Director in Germany and later in Dubai.

Dr. Schonder earned her professional credentials in the United States. She completed 4 years of undergraduate work in psychology, as well as 4 years of postgraduate work. During an additional 2-year postgraduate process that included over 2000 hours of supervised work, she earned her certification as Clinical Counselor. Later she continued her scientific studies and achieved the grade of Ph.D. She also completed a certification in Clinical Hypnotherapy in Newport Beach, CA and is a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH). Parallel to providing mental health services, Dr. Schonder worked in higher education teaching psychology and sociology at Chapman University and Colleges on the East and West Coast of the US. She has 15 years of experience working in the mental health field.

Diana’s educational background includes a master’s degree (MSc) in Psychology and Mental Health (King’s College London). Further qualifications: PGDip in Psychological Therapies (Queen Mary University of London), bachelor’s degree in Psychological Science, certified Performance and Stress Management (IAFPD, UK) and Cognitive Behavior Therapist (CBT) (Beck Institute, USA). She is a member of the International Society for Coaching Psychology (ISCP, UK) and British Psychological Society (BPS). She uses evidence-based therapeutic methods, including humanistic/client-centered therapy, family systems therapy, psychodynamic therapy, interpersonal therapy (IPT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) and psychometric testing.
